If you enjoy this, let me know (via a comment) and we’ll post some more!
I haven’t had a chance to blog lately, but since I am on spring break, I thought I’d say hello. HELLO! I’m sorry to everyone whom I have ignored…I will call you back I promise! Things up here are going well…despite the lack of any spring weather (Blah). Bailey will be 11 weeks on Saturday, and she’s growing like a weed. I’m so proud of her-she’s really smart. Tomorrow is her first visit to the vet for a checkup & shots-mom’s not too exicted. I am on spring break from school, which means after this week I have something like 7 weeks of school left for the semester-wooohoo! Then comes summer school and fall semester & I should be done. I have several credits that I have to appeal from Covenant and UTC-so pray that the department heads will be nice to me.
We’re both keeping busy with work & stuff & looking for houses in Chatty, but we’re looking forward to a little vacation in between my spring semester & summer school. Other than that, I’m anxiously waiting for spring-well more summer than spring, but that’s beside the point. I’m tired of wearing three shirts, a sweater, coat, scarf, and gloves everyday-and that’s just to take Bailey for a walk!! I hope everyone out there is doing well!

It all started a couple months ago when Heidi and I ran across a 3BR/1BA fixer-upper in St. Elmo that was listed for $30k. We instantly fell in love with the house, and felt like we were in a decent enough position to purchase such a home. By the time I had called my real estate agent about the listing, there had already been several offers place on the house, one of which was for well over the asking price. Our object of affection had been taken away from us, but the desire remained steady.{MORE}
A few months later (last month actually) we ran across a house that I had *almost* rented while I was in college. A very nice white 2-story house on Tennessee Avenue. The reason I only *almost* rented it was due to the fact that the property was sold before we could sign the lease papers. Anyways, we drove by it on our way back from South Georgia, and we saw a For Rent sign. We called the number, and met someone there within an hour. Come to find out, we now know the owners! Unfortunately, they want too much for the house, nor would we have the resources to pay for it anyways.
After that bubble was burst, we found another little house on Tennessee Avenue. Its a small house that faces the mountain, and the rest of the details are a little blurry. We know it has 3BR. It could have 2BA. It could have an unfinished basement with a kitchen. It could have an eat-in kitchen AND a separate dining room. We don’t know though. The photos online suck, and the seller doesn’t seem very motivated to even let my agent in to take some photos. The price is a tad on the high side (based upon our current, incomplete assumptions), but doable. Heidi and I have already started the “what if” game to find out what we would do if certain situations would arise.
St. Elmo, we hear you…we miss you. Please be patient for our return.
