Prego

I realize I talk about the baby quite often, so I’ll apologize ahead of time…sorry! :) I never knew that being prego and feeling your baby kick could be so exciting & amazing. We had our first sonogram a few weeks ago, and it was by far the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. I didn’t get to see a lot of the movement b/c she was measuring and checking things out first. But Kyle said the baby was kicking and sucking its thumb and rolling. But in the past few weeks I’ve been able to feel the kicks more than ever. Either we’ve got a little soccer player in there or someone’s having tantrum’s. It is pretty cool though. And my eating has definitely started to increase, and every once in a while I have little cravings. Nothing crazy or anything-yesterday it was Krispy Kreme’s-all 3 of them. And today I wanted coke & pickles-fun stuff. And they couldn’t be just any pickle-I had to call my mom to find out what kind of pickles she used to buy when we were kids. So, that’s a little update. Everything’s going really well, and we’re more than halfway through the pregnancy-woohoo.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Holidays are one of my favorite times of year-besides my birthday, spring, summer, and the leaves in the fall. Ok, so I enjoy most all of the year, but I love Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s the only time I enjoy the cold weather, and I get to eat all the sweets I want without feeling guilty.{MORE}This year is my 4th year going to Kyle’s family’s house for Thanksgiving and I look forward to it each year. I miss my family, but I really enjoy spending Christmas with them. The first year I went home with Kyle we were dating, and I had no idea what to expect. I wasn’t so much worried about being around his family as I was worried about having fried turkey. I had never heard of frying a turkey before, and being my first Holiday away from my family I was looking for a little familiarity. But, I absolutely loved the fried turkey-and now its something I look forward to. Kyle’s family does a huge Thanksgiving with a ton of food-I’ve never seen so much food at one meal before! And his family has really started to grow. His two cousins have kids now, Hannah is going to be 7 in April, and we have one on the way, so next year will be a crazy year with all the grandkids, cousins, and everyone.

The other part of Thanksgiving that I love is how everyone tends to take a little bit of time to reflect on what they are thankful for. Every once in a while Kyle and I look back over the past few years and see how far the Lord has brought us, and how much we really have to be thankful for. We have had a fun 2 1/2 years of marriage; lots of moving; new jobs & unemployment; a car accident; death of grandparents; coming out of debt; a few semesters of school (& graduation is just around the corner!) a new puppy; a baby on the way; our first house; and the continued love and support from our families & friends. It is amazing to see how God provides in every situation, even when things look bleak and unhopeful. Sometimes its so easy to remember the difficult or hard times of years past, but remember to reflect on both the good and hard times.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Posey’s! (all 4 of us)

Small Update

We have been bad bloggers lately too (although at least I’ve blogged a few times, Kyle’s a slacker). No really, we haven’t done a good job of keeping up with this. Things are a bit crazy right now, but everything is good! Kyle has been working like crazy on the house-with the great help of a lot of our friends-thanks again everyone!! I’m still up here in Indy with Bailey where the weather is quite cold. I am 20 weeks this week, and on Wednesday we go for our first sonogram, and hopefully we’ll find out whether we’re having a girl/boy (or a puppy). :) That’s everything for now!
