Yesterday was such an icky (yes icky), nasty rainy day. Briana & I had planned to get together and work on some sewing projects, and the weather was a good reason to stay in.
So, we headed to the fabric stores to get fabric for Briana’s pillows. It started out great, and when we got to the second store the downpour began. Anyway, Briana found the perfect material-absolutely perfect-and we headed back to my house. I had also promised Briana some awesome scones. So we whipped up scones, made some tea & got to work on our sewing projects. Ok, before the comments begin…yes we are dorks, tea, scones & sewing, we know we know.
But it was our tea party, and trust me, our husbands gave us a hard time. We spent the afternoon sewing, appeasing Avery & eating scones, it was awesome. Kyle & Trevor were hard at work on our 3rd bedroom for the afternoon-awesome job guys! We finally stopped for the day & finished up this afternoon. Although I feel like I didn’t get a lot done, I made 3 pillows for our bed, and a new bandanna for Bailey. I wish I could work a little faster, but between being a bit of a perfectionist and having a 1 year old needing attention, I could only do sew much.
I’ll post pictures of my pillows soon-mostly for my mom’s enjoyment.
Hopefully everyone had a great weekend! We’re ready for the sun & warmth to come back, Avery is missing the park!
Well, baby Posey #2 could be making her debut sooner than later. We had our appt. the other day (I’m 30 weeks), and it looks like she is gearing up to come and see us. So now my doctor has us coming in once a week with an ultrasound this coming week to check on her size, etc. Just pray for our little one that she will stay in there several more weeks & that I won’t have to go on bed rest (one of my bigger fears!). Other than that she is doing really well, kicking me like crazy & already waking me up at night.
That’s all for now, more to come after our appt. next week!
Oh, and nope we haven’t decided on a name. We have a list of names & once she is born & we have time to sit down and see her we will name her.
Avery has yet to get to this stage, but I’m sure things will happen over the years. I received these in one of those email forwards, and thought they were too cute not to share. Enjoy!
One Sunday in a Midwest City, a young child was acting up during the morning worship hour. The parents did their best to maintain some sense of order in the pew but were losing the battle. Finally, the father picked the little fellow up and walked sternly up the aisle on his way out. Just before reaching the safety of the foyer, the little one called loudly to the congregation, “Pray for me! Pray for me!”
A little boy was overheard praying: “Lord, if you can’t make me a better boy, don’t worry about it. I’m having a real good time like I am.”
A Sunday School teacher asked her little children, as they were on the way to church service, “And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?” One bright little girl replied, “Because people are sleeping.”
A ten-year old, under the tutelage of her grandmother, was becoming quite knowledgeable about the Bible. Then, one day, she floored her grandmother by asking, “Which Virgin was the mother of Jesus? The virgin Mary or the King James Virgin.
A Sunday school class was studying the Ten Commandments. They were ready to discuss the last one. The teacher asked if anyone could tell her what it was. Susie raised her hand, stood tall, and quoted, “Thou shall not take the covers off the neighbors wife.
A little boy opened the big and old family Bible with fascination, looking at the old pages as he turned them. Then something fell out of the Bible. He picked it up and looked at it closely. It was an old leaf from a tree that has been pressed in between the pages. “Mama, look what I found,” the boy called out. “What have you got there, dear?” his mother asked. With astonishment in the young boy’s voice he answered, “It’s Adam’s suit”.
And this one is for my sister…I think she would have had a fit if she had a ring bearer who had done this last week…
A little boy was in a relative’s wedding. As he was coming down the aisle, he would take two steps, stop, and turn to the crowd. While facing the crowd, he would put his hands up like claws and roar. So it went, step, step, ROAR, step, step, ROAR, all the way down the aisle. As you can imagine, the crowd was near tears from laughing so hard by the time he reached the pulpit. When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said, “I was being the Ring Bear.”
Well, Avery did it!! He took his first independent steps last week!!! He’s been cruising for several months now, but has been a bit scared to let go of our hands/the couch to walk on his own. Apparently my parents house is the place of learning. I think the carpet gives him a bit more padding than our hardwoods, so he was a bit more adventurous.
So anyway, we were at Gretchen & Matt’s rehearsal & were waiting in the pub area for our next ‘directions’ & mom & I were passing Avery back and forth. So mom set him down and I put my arms out for him, assuming he wouldn’t come to me, but hoping. And the little stinker took two big steps all by himself and came right to me! So, he took his first steps in a pub, how horrible/weird/funny is that?! He’s been a bit skittish since then, but he does it about once a day, I’m SOO excited! The best part is that I can now say he started walking at 12 months (he turned 13 months yesterday). My little preemie is catching up soo well, we’re just a little bit proud of him, can you tell?
That’s it for now, I’ll post more about our week & the wedding later. Nap time is calling for me & Ave.
