I’ve been trying to sell the Jetta for several months now, and have only had 1 serious offer… which fell through. Heidi took over selling the Jetta yesterday, and had it sold within 12 hours… To rub dirt in the wound, she pretty much had a backup offer within an hour after selling it.
So Heidi has been named VP of sales in our family. If you would like to purchase something from us, please contact her and she will somehow mesmerize you into buying.
It HAS been a while since I blogged, and I think the last post was just a picture of the munchkins. I can’t believe summer is almost over already. Well, I say summer as in ‘the normal summer months’, but we still have several months of warmth-thank goodness! We’ve been trying to just take it easy after all of these house projects, but life never works that way. Since the floors were finished & we moved back in I’ve been rearranging and organizing, etc. and it’s still not done.
I’m really hoping this weekend I can get Avery’s room all painted & finished. Then I’ll move onto Maddy’s room. I would have started Avery’s last weekend, but alas the a/c went out. Well let me back up a little.
Last week was hot but not too bad, and the a/c felt extremely cold for 76, so I bumped it up to 78 and even though it still felt freezing I left it. (Kyle says I mess with the a/c too much & he’s threatening to put a lockbox over it so I can’t touch it!) Then I spent half of Wednesday & all day Thursday sick with food poisoning, and midway through Thursday I kept telling Kyle it’s really hot in here. But of course when you’re sick you tend to feel hot, so he didn’t believe me. Then by Friday afternoon I noticed that the air was no longer cold coming out of the vents. And Friday night it was stinkin’ hot in here!! Of course it has to go out over the weekend. Fortunately it cools down during the night, so everyone got cool baths/showers before bed & the kids slept in diapers. But Sunday was the worst. It was so crazy hot, and we were all cranky. Go figure. So we spent as much time out of the house as possible, and everyone got to bed really late. Then yesterday Kyle called & woke me up to say the a/c guy was on his way. He arrived like 30 minutes later & literally within minutes I could feel cold air coming out of the vents-hooray! It took several hours to really cool the house off, but fortunately it was only 2 blown fuses-not too bad.
Then today & tomorrow we have new windows going in. I ALWAYS forget that when we start any type of project around here its going to be noisy, its going to take way longer than expected, its going to cost more than they said, and oh yeah, my house is going to explode with dust, dirt, and bugs! No wonder I feel like the house is always a mess.
We’re replacing 4 windows, 2 in the kitchen and 2 in our new bedroom. The scariest part is right now-there’s a huge gaping hole in my beautiful kitchen. By the end of the day it’ll be all better. And I’ll be sure to post pictures of the rooms when they’re finished!
So other than the messes and gobs of money we’re throwing at people, there’s not too much new around here. Maddy is 2 months old now and cute as ever. I’ve decided that she has to always have a hair bow in her hair when we go out of the house. People keep mistaking her for a boy b/c of all her hair, but with a bow, its an instant, “oh look how cute she is!” Score!!
And, she’s already wearing her 3 month clothes. I’m pretty sure Avery was like 6 months old when he started wearing his 3 month old clothes.
Speaking of Ave, he is such a little ham. He is constantly putting on a show! Once he realizes that we find something funny, he’ll do it over and over and over again…it’s pretty cute. Yesterday he decided he wanted to hold Madelyn-yeah right. So when I went to pick her up, he runs over and puts his arms out to hold her. I obliged and let him help-so cute! And he’s wanting to give hugs now. Last night he gave me a big hug and then patted my back-where does he get this from?! And of course when we’re out and about he waves to everyone, smiles, and claps-the old ladies in the stores just eat it up! And Dad you’ll appreciate this, he gave me a ‘thumbs up’ yesterday & then laughed! I’ll have to get a picture of it to send to you.
Ok, enough talking, here’s the pics…
Check out that hair dude! It’s called Home Depot hair. (Can you tell I was bored?)

Ok, ok, yes Maddy is sleeping in a drawer. But before you start yelling at me…calm down! We were staying at Bri & Trevor’s while Kyle was finishing the floors and we only had 1 pack n play. So, we made the drawer all soft & comfy, and presto…new bed for Maddy. ![]()

Big boy on the couch…I can’t believe how big he’s getting!!

Ok, the picture is not sideways or upside down. She was asleep and kept sliding until she was laying completely the wrong way. I fixed her like 3 or 4 times before I gave up. She was happy that way!

Coloring for the first time. I walked away for a minute and came back to a half eaten red crayon & a very happy boy!

First bath in the little bath tub, and she LOVED it!!

That’s it for today!
How cute are they?!
That’s it, just a picture for today. ![]()
I haven’t been great about posting all of Mad’s pictures, so I’m making up for it here.
And yes, I call her Mad or Mads, not sure why. She is just the sweetest little girl. She’s really started smiling at us & she’s spending more and more time awake lately too while sleeping about 6 hours at night…wahoo!!
Ok, here we go, enjoy…
Couldn’t get her to look at the camera…

Yes, sometimes she’s not so sweet…

This little cherry onesie is sooo cute! (Thanks Heather Joy!)

Maddy in her new carseat…(yup its blue to match the new double stroller, its the only color available. And unfortunately everyone assumes blue car seat, baby must be a boy…ugg.)

Already got him hooked around her finger…

Big brother trying to pick her up…

And big brother trying to pacify her without the paci…

That’s all for now. We have the sweetest little kids & they’ve been such troopers the past two weeks during all the work on the floors. (I’ll post about that when they’re done.) Maddy’s now 6 weeks old and about 9lbs-she’s so big! Ok, off to bed, they’ll be up before I can even realize I’ve slept.
I think we’re finally settling in fairly well. Madelyn is a month old and eating & sleeping like the princess that she is. Avery is doing an incredible job being a big brother, and he’s learning to be ‘gentle’ with her. And poor Bailey is still hanging in there-Avery has learned to chase her & terrorize her…it’s actually quite humorous! And the house renovations are finally making some excellent progress…Lord willing we’ll be done in about 2 weeks (or less)! So, just to prove how well things are going ’round here…enjoy the pictures, there are a TON!
This is SO heavy mom! (He’s actually standing, you just can’t tell)

Uh hey, I’m not so sure about this little thing…(look at her sad face!)

Ok, now this is funny. Avery had just finished eating spaghetti with us & he was a mess. So, I figured we should get some pics of his first spaghetti dinner. And boy did he put on a show for the camera. Kyle started just snapping away & grabbed over 40 pictures in less than like 2-3 minutes. Don’t worry, there aren’t 40 pics below…only a few. ![]()

Hamming it up after bath time…

The cow puppet…quick story. My dad bought this for Avery back when he was a baby b/c my dad LOVES puppets. When we were kids he always put little puppet shows on for us, so it’s been fun to watch Avery enjoy a puppet too. He thinks it’s hysterical. Here he is trying to make the cow say ‘moo’…

And the renovations…(closets on either side of the fireplace)

And we redid the pantry last weekend…yeah!!

That’s all for now, hope you enjoyed the plethora of pics! Happy Wednesday! ![]()
